Bringing context to soccer performance

Sports Ai was recently featured in La Presse, which explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping the way soccer performance is analyzed and decisions are made. The article traces the evolution from an era of handwritten notes and basic metrics to a modern approach where contextual, AI-driven insights are essential for understanding the game.

Co-founded by former CF Montréal reserve player Tarik Agday, Sports Ai was built around a simple idea: statistics alone do not tell the full story. Every performance must be evaluated within the framework of a coach’s tactical instructions and playing philosophy. Using AI-powered video analysis, Sports Ai analyzes individual and collective actions, such as passing patterns, positioning, and decision-making, while placing each event in its proper context.

The feature also highlights Sports Ai’s strong ties to the professional soccer ecosystem. From its early development, the platform benefited from close collaboration with CF Montréal, whose coaches and technical staff provided critical feedback to ensure the solution addressed real on-field needs. That collaboration helped shape a tool designed by and for practitioners.

Today, Sports Ai works with CF Montréal’s U15 and U17 teams, supports MLS players through detailed performance reports, and continues to grow as new versions of the platform are developed. Being featured in La Presse reflects our commitment to helping coaches, clubs, and players make smarter, more objective decisions, powered by artificial intelligence and guided by human expertise.
